From the rear, you can see clips mounted under the teal 1×2 cheese slope. There aren’t any explicit uses for them in the instructions, but I’m sure you could clip a weapon on there if you wanted to. Build and play – This 1,394-piece building kit can be combined with the Ninja Training Center (71764) playset In terms of parts, it isn’t particularly groundbreaking - again, the best bits come from the EVO-based mech - but that has its merits: the designer created a compelling and great looking set without using a lot of new elements that would make me want to dismantle it for MOC fodder. The small details and various features allow for a great wealth of role play opportunities which I’m sure younger Ninjago fans will appreciate, but even if you’re not a huge fan of the theme, the dojo on its own sans mech and snake enemies looks like a beautiful theme-neutral display piece. There’s a lot to love here for various flavours of LEGO fan.The story continues with Kai running off to get his EVO Fire Mech, similar to Zane’s Icy version in set 71761. Unlike Zane’s, the instructions don’t call out the “EVO” options – you build the fully “powered up” mech. The core of the mech is designed to hold a minifigure, protected by that cool new scalloped chest plate.
Ninja building kit includes 8 minifigures: Lloyd, Kai, Cole, Nya, Master Wu, Pixal, plus evil snake warriors Cobra Mechanic and Boa Destructor with their rammer vehicle, to play out fast-paced action. New for January 2022, when kids defeat the ninja enemies and complete their mission they are rewarded with a collectible banner.

Your experiments with the 1x1 round plate with bar are clever—in addition to adding another connection point for structural use, I could see that being used for custom ammo, within reason (since any added weight would likely decrease the actual performance of firing it). The ask was to create a new "hub" for the ninja from where they could venture out to the different adventures depicted on the other sets of the line. I tried to get a traditional look, still Ninjago style but a bit different from what we have done in the past few years, mainly the Temple of Spinjitzu.
