About this deal

Erin Hanson’s mother’s name is unknown at this time and her father’s name is under review. We will continue to update information on Erin Hanson’s parents. Erin Hanson is the creator of the contemporary painting style "Open Impressionism," which is being taught in art schools and colleges worldwide. Open Impressionism is a blend of classic impressionism and modern expressionism, with a dash of plein air style.

With this project Stephanie hopes to remind her girls and the rest of us that life is magical and that we should always think big – what if you fly? I think most of us have witnessed the social media community come together around crises and social issues, and I hope Stephanie’s project will be another beautiful instance of community engagement and support. ERIN HANSON: BORREGO IN COLOR. Tumbleweed Art Gallery, Borrego Springs, CA. Curated by Glenda Garmon. 2014

Naturally, you won't like all of her poems as much. I've never read a book of a poet and like each and every poem written in it. Also, I believe that, depending on the person you are, what you've been through, your emotional makeup will influence the poems you'll like. Erin Hanson: Reassurance in Flaws The name Erin Hanson is one many have not heard. The young poets ideas spread confidence, self love, and acceptance. Her young age allows her to connect with her audience in ways many her fellow poets can not. For example in her poem non-officially titled “People are not poetry” Hanson covers the many struggles of being human. However; instead of focusing on the negative, she turns the spotlight on accepting what makes each one of us different. This interesting turn makes for some fascinating works of literature and life lessons. Style and tone, symbolism, and metaphorical language communicate embracing individualism in Erin Hanson's poetry. To begin, Hanson expresses embracing individualism in her poems …show more content…

I went to a small private school, where I graduated high school at age 16. For 10 years at this school I had the same art instructor. Aside from valuable lessons in technique and theory, the most important thing I learned was to open my eyes and draw objects as they really were, not draw my assumptions about them. We did a LOT of drawing and painting from nature and still life, and I did hundreds of repetitions of drawing my own face in the mirror or drawing my own hand holding the drawing pencil, drawing itself on the paper (M.C. Escher style). It was all this practice painting realism that allowed me to eventually simplify the complexity of what I was seeing and develop the minimalist approach that I have today. Chinese Zodiac: Erin Hanson was born in the Year of the Rabbit. People born under this sign are nice and good-mannered. They're always forgiving of other people's mistakes, which at times can translate to naivete and gullibility. Open Impressionism is unlike any other painting style and truly stands by itself in the contemporary art world. While inspired by the impressionists of the past, Hanson has a more expressionistic manner of painting, and her works attempt to recapture the emotional content of the outdoors, instead of merely the light and forms of the landscape. While Open Impressionism was developed over the span of 20 years and certainly changed as the artist experimented and refined her techniques, there are some basic hallmarks of Open Impressionism that we can take note of. This was the first poetry book that I have read since Shell Silverstein, and I absolutely loved it! I first found Erin Hanson online, and was happy to find that she had full books of her poetry. She writes in a very personal way that is easy to connect with. By using imagery and alliteration, Hanson crafts incredible stories and vignettes. Since you create one painting every week, who or what do you turn to when looking for sources of inspiration? My painting technique is done with expressive color and loose brush strokes, in a wet-on-wet technique known as alla prima. Alla prima comes from Italian, literally meaning 'at first attempt' and is loosely applied to any painting that is done in a direct, expressive style. Did you receive any valuable advice from art instructors along the way that still serves you today? Alliteration: occurs when the poet repeats the same consonant sound at the beginning of multiple words. For example, “light” and “loving” in lines eleven and twelve.

Throughout this piece, the poet makes use of several literary devices. These include but are not limited to: When I paint, I work from photos I took in the field. My challenge is to turn a flat, uninspiring photograph into a beautiful, impressionist painting that captures all the light and movement of the outdoors. Never Trust a Mirror’by Erin Hanson is a twenty-line poem that is contained within a single stanza of text. The lines use numerous examples of rhyme but do not follow an exact pattern. For example, within the first ten lines, the word “mirror” is used as an exact rhyme, and the words “deep” and “sleep” are used as perfect rhymes.Erin Hanson is part of a Millennial Generation (also known as Generation Y). Millennials is a generation who grew up with computers, internet and social networks. Having been raised under the mantra "follow your dreams" and being told they were special, they tend to be confident and tolerant of difference.
